Time Recoil is a stylish top-down shooter that uniquely blends fast-paced action with a clever time-manipulation mechanic. Developed by 10tons Ltd — the same studio behind Crimsonland and Neon Chrome — the game challenges players to blast through enemies while slowing time to a crawl, creating an addictive and exhilarating gameplay loop.

You play as a rebel agent in a dystopian future, fighting against a mad scientist dictator known as Mr. Time. Using your special powers, you must travel across different periods to sabotage his plans. The plot unfolds through mission briefings and comic-book-style panels, giving the game retro sci-fi flair. While the story isn't overly complex, it serves its purpose well, driving the action forward.

Gameplay

At its core, Time Recoil is a twin-stick shooter — but what sets it apart is the time-slowing mechanic. Every kill grants you a burst of slowed time, allowing you to chain together stylish takedowns and navigate hectic rooms filled with enemies and hazards.

The better you perform, the more powerful your abilities become. After multiple kills, you unlock special moves like a powerful dash attack or explosive area-of-effect blasts. It creates a rewarding feedback loop: the more aggressive and precise you are, the cooler and more devastating you become.
